Last day as single people

Well, tomorrow is the big day. Today's agenda includes picking up 8 rented tables and finishing the potato salad. I'm going to drive down to mom and dad's and Randy is going to pick me up so we can go to Durand to get the tables. We're going to drop the tables off at my uncle's and put them in the back of his truck. We are taking two picnic tables down to mom and dad's for the gift opening.

My maid of honor isn't able to stay for the gift opening which makes me a little sad, but she needs to get back to Colorado to do her laundry and get ready for a meeting or something at the corporate office for where she works. Oh, speaking of my maid of honor...here is a picture of her and I that was taken the morning of September 24th.

Final two days before our wedding day

Well, after chores last night we went down to mom and dad's to wait for my maid of honor to arrive. She wanted to come in on Tuesday but a prior engagement kept her from doing that although she did try to get out of it. She called at 11 last night saying she was at Exit 32 of I-94. Once we figured out that it was County Q we told her how to get to Elmwood and the three of us (mom, Randy, and I) went to Elmwood to meet her. I rode back to mom and dad's with Amy so we could have a little one-on-one girl time. We got back home at about 1 am this morning only to get a few hours of sleep before chores.

It was great to see Amy last night and I'm looking forward to day.

Today we are going to make the Corn Flake bars and probably work on the potato salad.

Three days...

Well...our big day is almost here. Only a few more days.

Today, not only have I been waiting for word from my maid of honor on her arrival in Wisconsin, but I went to Menomonie to get a few things mom needed for the bars she's making and a few things that we needed (pop, windshield washer fluid, and dog food). I went from Menomonie down to mom and dad's. I drained one kettle of potatoes for mom, then rinsed off the next kettle of potatoes and put them on to cook. Once they were done I drained them too. I also mixed up a pan of lemon bars (very simple recipe) and got them baking for mom.

When I left I took a bag of potatoes that dad brought home from work to my aunt and uncle in Rock Elm. I visited with my aunt and cousin Kathy for a little while before heading home.

I have been very distracted today...and it hasn't taken much to distract me.

I got a card from State Representative Chris Danou the other day at mom and dad's...when I opened it, much to my surprise was a copy of our engagement announcement from the Pierce County Herald.

Down to four days...

Well...four days left until we get married. We got another card and RSVP yesterday. Our RSVP count is up to 177, but now there may be up to six not coming that had already RSVPed - but I totally understand. Our money/gift card amount is up to $255.

We didn't get any cards or RSVPs today (or at least not yet...not saying some could call or email me yet today).

6 days to go...

We are now down to six days until our wedding. Today we got to hear Abbie play parts of the songs so we could decide on what format we want them played in. Then we went to mom and dad's for a birthday lunch for my dad with some close family friends. While we were at mom and dad's Becky called and said that she had the mints made and that she wanted us to stop in and sample one and see if we thought what she had made was enough. The mints are in the shapes of bells (only a couple as they were having problems with the molds), roses, and leaves. The colors are white, orange, yellow, blue, and green. They taste really good. She is going to make up another half batch or so.

One week to go...

In a week Randy and I will be husband and wife. Our number of RSVP's is now 173 and the gift money total is now $155. We got one RSVP and one card and gift of money today.

Today I put most of what could be put in the Jeep in the Jeep. I have one tote and two wash tubs that could be put in there yet.

Other than that...been working on the last assignment I want to get done before Tuesday.

8 days left...

Well, it's now down to 8 days until the big day for Randy and I. Gifts remain the same for right now. RSVP's are now up to 169 people, not counting those that are not coming or those that will just show up.

My progress on school work is going great. I have one assignment left to complete that is due the week after the wedding. I promised my instructors that I would keep up with the discussions by checking back every day or two.

I have to finish making up the thank yous for the wedding party (4 to make) but I have some writing to do in most of them yet.

I suppose sometime this week Mike and Brad will be over to get the handle on what needs to be done for the chores for the night of the wedding and the morning after. Last night we put the tags on the cows in the second batch that were missing them. We have a bunch to put on in the first batch. Our milkman comes the night before the wedding so we won't have to worry about that. Haying is just about done for the year. Up next...corn and soybeans.

10 days to go...

Well, we're down to 10 days and time is still flying by. We have gotten RSVP's for 165 people.

Our first announcement in a local paper appeared online today at http://www.piercecountyherald.com/event/article/id/21469/. The announcement should be in the Dunn County News on Sunday.

We are planning on around 250 people (since we've put the announcement in the paper).

I'm trying to get everything lined up that we can safely put in the trailer the night before and everything else that we'll need for the wedding.

I'm actually busy with not only the wedding stuff, but also school work, house work, and trying to help around the farm where I can.

11 Days To Go...

We're down to 11 days until the wedding. We just talked to Becky about the mints, cake, and music. The mints are going to be white and the frosting for the cake will be white, yellow, and blue. We need to stop down to listen to Abbie play the music to decide on the style we want it played in (she's got a fancy keyboard).

So far we've gotten one gift of cash and two gift cards to Walmart totaling $140. We also have gotten one gift which was a five piece towel set.

Two weeks to go...

Two weeks and counting down to the wedding. I just finished making up the extra beds at mom and dad's house and have starting making ice to keep the potato salad and punch cold that day. I'm still praying for beautiful weather. On my way home, I went up to the park to see how many leaves are turning...there are a few, but by the wedding it should be really pretty. My maid-of-honor will be at mom and dad's on the 22nd and another friend and two cousins will be there on the 25th.

We are going to Eau Claire tomorrow to pick up some buns for the sandwiches. I need to start getting everything for the wedding in one area so we don't forget anything. At least the decorations are being kept to a minimum (flowers only).

Easter Sunday

This picture was taken at my parent's house on Easter Sunday. We started out at Randy's sister and brother-in-law's for Easter Dinner (lunch). This was when we told everyone except his dad and my parents that we are getting married. We set the date for September 26, 2009. (So as I write this...it is 16 days away.)

Randy's sister, Becky Jensen, is not only the bride's maid for me, but she is also making the cake and mints. Abbie, Becky's oldest daughter, is playing a couple songs on the piano for our wedding (the traditional "Here Comes The Bride" and then "There Is Love (Wedding Song)". Karlie, Becky's youngest daughter, is videotaping the wedding ceremony for us. Right now, we don't know what Dana (Becky's son) is going to do yet, but he will be helping some how. Gregg, Becky's husband, is the groomsman.

Troy Moritz, Randy's brother, is the best man. Troy's wife, Connie, will be at the guest book. Troy and Connie's children, Hunter (5) and Hope (3) are the ring bearer and flower girl.

My maid of honor, is one of my best friends, Amy Babcock.

The minister is a classmate of my mom's, Dennis Overlien.

I have put together the flowers for our wedding without any help. My mom is making the potato salad and some of the bars. Our friend, Mary, and mom's sister, Nona, are also making bars. Mary, Dorothy, and my friend Sandy are also helping the day of the wedding.

Our wedding is going to be a causal and simple outdoor ceremony at Butternut Park in Elmwood, Wisconsin with the reception following at the park. We decided to wear denim just because it's simple and wouldn't be too expensive.

More will be added (including pictures) after the wedding.
